In this study, relations between physical fitness parameters of 9-10 years old girls (n=72) and boys (n=112) were invastigated. The children’s physical fitness parameters were measured with the Sportslinx test battery. Pearson’s correlation test was used in the statistical analysis. Positive correlations between weight and BMI (body mass index), BFR (body fat ratio), balance, handgrip strength and acyclic speed (10x5m); BMI and balance, handgrip strength, acyclic speed and BFR (p<0.01); balance and arm speed and BFR (p<0.01), handgrip strength and acyclic speed (p<0.05); jumping power and handgrip strength, jumping speed and sit-ups (p<0.01); handgrip strength and jumping speed (p<0.01); jumping speed and sit-ups and acyclic speed (p<0.01) were obtained. Negative correlations between weight and sit-ups (p<0.01); BMI and jumping power and sit-ups (p<0.01); balance and jumping speed and sit-ups (p<0.01) and jumping power (p<0.05); arm speed and jumping speed and sit-ups (p<0.01); jumping power and acyclic speed and BFR (p<0.01); jumping speed and acyclic speed (p<0.01) and BFP (p<0.05); acyclic speed and sit-ups (p<0.01); sit-ups and BFR (p<0.01). were found. In 9-10 year-old children, increases in body weight, body fat ratio and BMI (leading to obesity) affect negatively physical fitness parameters such as jumping skill, speed, speed power and power.
